After a career change in 1992 I took a year out to undertake a full time furniture making and design course at the prestigious ‘Rycotewood’ college in  Thame, Oxfordshire.
I then took employment with a local furniture maker to start my ‘on the job’ training. This lasted until 2000 when (with my young family) I moved to Devon.

In 2003 I started my own small business.

My passion for the use of local English, or at least British, timber started very early on in my work. I believe the timber has more character and obviously the carbon footprint is much reduced compered to imported species.
My workshop is located five miles from Honiton and within the beautiful 'Blackdown Hills' which straddle the borders of East Devon and Somerset.
My working practice takes me to clients’ homes to discuss the various options open to them. Then after initial design and costs are agreed a commission is undertaken.
I will design, make, finish, deliver and fit, if necessary, personally. I believe in continuity from start to finish.
